Since 2020 is the new 1348 what plans do you have if

...and non US Citizens should answer this one too since we are all connected in this big, crazy world.

Trump loses but refuses to leave? What then?

Me: Realistically I am going to stay in, and try to not catch COVID-19 so my wife does not get it, but I would happily participate in a General Strike.

Why does every side always speculate on this? What happens if Clinton doesn't leave office? What happens if Bush makes himself dictator for life?

If Trump loses the election and refuses to leave the office, I'm pretty sure US Marshals and the Secret Service would summarily pick him up and physically remove him from residence on Jan 20.

I think most Presidents are relieved to finally leave office.
I'd whore myself out just one more time if I knew who to screw to get out of this grind.

Well, Trump seems to be set on the idea that if he loses it will be because of voter fraud. He also said that he needs a few extra months to make up for the Mueller probe. But on June 12th he did say that he will leave office peacefully if he is not re-elected.

However, I think that Clinton / Bush II, who both won second terms were very low on the "Won't Leave Office" scale where as Trump is a bit higher, and his fans have a bit of a persecution complex.

I think historically Trump ranks 3rd in the "Not going to go" behind Wilson and FDR (if FDR had lived and Wilson would not have been debilitated by a stroke).

Anyway, that is my plan. Since I work from home 90% of the time I will stay home and participate in a General Strike unless the Governor declares my job essential...which it might be.

I started the year with lots of lofty ambitions. These have basically been reduced to:

1. Not getting sick
2. Staying employed

Low bars but those are the times.

Things leaking from his camp seem to indicate that Trump realizes he is behind at this point in the election. I think the concerns are unwarranted, and mostly based on the straw man that the left has built up around Trump being a fascist dictator because they didn't like the 2016 election results.

He has a bit more fascist tendencies that other presidents.

Luckily he is a bit too lazy to carry them out. I am hoping Biden wont do what the Hillary camp wanted to do and that was punish the Trump voting class by outsourcing jobs and other nonsense. Cuz the Trump After Trump will be full on fascist.

I anticipate the Democrats opening the immigration and citizenship flood gates to swamp native voters in Texas.. It will take Republicans 20-30 years to recover from Texas going blue. They are already talking about court packing. I expect quasi one party rule and rampant government overreach once Democrats take control again.

I do not know if they are going to do it with strategy in mind. The talk I have heard, which is akin to the talk I have heard of people wanting to kill Democrats, is just punishment.

Mostly Hillary fans wanting the hoi polloi to pay for daring to vote for someone who at least claimed he wanted to preserve and bring jobs back to the US, rather than someone who was recorded saying she wanted more globalisation and no borders for people or commerce.

When gun people are angry they kill. When money people are angry they impoverish.

Is there even an alternate reality in which Trump actually loses at this point?

If he loses he'll get a gig on Fox news criticizing the Dem presidency and saying how great of a president he was.

If he loses the election but stays in the White House, claiming technicalities so as to not buy a case of beer I wagered.

If Trump loses, he'll leave. He may be escorted to the gate by the Secret Service and he'll probably try to take some of the heirlooms from the place claiming they were actually his, but he'll leave one way or another. My question is what sort of treatment will he get? He was downright rude to Obama, so I suspect Biden will say something like "Don't let the door bang you on your butt" as Trump leaves.

Damn funny. I could see him walking out with something he sees as bounty..

The rest is speculation. Rude? To Obama, to Biden? He was terrible to everyone who wasn't some kind of dictator. Allies? What Allies? History will not look on him kindly.

If Biden is his competition....

I’ll admit Covid and the major protests don’t help him in some eyes, but the word on the street says he’s still the man! I don’t follow US politics too closely, but in 2016 when Trump was running, nobody gave him a shot in hell at winning, especially the way the media painted it. But there was a big dichotomy between what the media portrayed and reality. Talking casually to many Americans at that time, the vast majority spoke favourably of voting him in.

Lots of shit has gone down since 2016, but he’s still the guy who keeps the economy going, and he hasn’t really gone to war with anyone. When’s the last time that didn’t happen? What’s really fucked up when you think about it is he is soulless, lying, and at many times quite dumb and incompetent, and he still beats the alternative.
