Sharon a "Centrist" ?!

Postby Outkast » Sat Oct 01, 2005 12:39 am

After the Gaza pullout, members of Sharon's own Likud party recently began accusing him of not being "right enough".

Did I miss something here?

Has Sharon the "Bulldozer" really gone soft, or has the rest of his party completely lost it?

I just can't seem to keep up with Israeli politics...

I don't know what that fat sack of evil is saying but George is sure chimpin' out on it.
I know the law. And I have spent my entire life in its flagrant disregard.

Here's your captions:

Sharon, in Hebrew: "First the Arab world, then you're next, cowboy..."

Dubya, thinking silently to himself: "Crap, even the Israelis speak in tongues..."

Seriously though, it looks like Sharon is in the process of doing the same thing as Koizumi in the land of the rising sun- political party gets pissed off about the prime minister doing something unconventional and DEFINITELY out of character, and then the leader decides to run *against* their own party in an improvised election.

Except Sharon hasn't officially left Likud yet, but for laughs, go read about how a high level investigation is being launched because someone unplugged his mike before he was scheduled to speak at a primary election debate inside the party a little while ago...

All of this "Maverick Leader" business sounds fishy to me.
