It's a great book, oddly enough I read it for the first time when I was in Taiwan...I must have been under the influence of Fenrisco

Currently reading "Shadow Warrior" by David Everett (reading it as a cautionary tale so I won't be tempted to start robbing banks or bookstores to help fund Ultra Swain's NGO work);

Finishing The Change Series by Stirling

Part way through "Cat vs Cat"- a psychology of misbehaving cats (does this mean I'm veering close to "crazy cat-lady" territory).

"The Heart Must Break - The fight for Democracy and Truth in Burma" by James Mawdsley

Intrigued enough by Michelle in Alaska's comments about "Infidel" to order a copy that is persumably on its way from somewhere....

"Every Man in this Village is a Liar: An Education in War" by Megan Stack

"The Gun" by Chivers
Joan of Arc went to battle with nothing

and a well-sharpened sword ~ Charlotte

You forgot to mention Robert Spencer's "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades)." A real good inside look at Islam. Especially since he quotes the Quran for sourcing.

Don't try to read the Quran like that, you'll get a headache... it is not compiled in chronological order and many verses don't even make sense because the context and circumstance aren't mentioned. It's almost like reading a 6th century twitter.

First you need this: http://www.qran.org/q-chrono.htm Second, the ahadith (narrations about the life and deeds of the Prophet) are necessay to understand the Book: http://www.wikiislam.net/wiki/Revelatio ... e_Qur%27an

I just bought a Kindle. After being a complete sceptic towards them I have seen the light . Fanfuckingtastic.

Downloaded up to now about 150 free books including loads of classics, loads of histories, books long out of print and difficult to get outside of days spent in second handbook shops and paying an arm and a leg and all absolutely free.
Uber impressed by its ease of use and the clarity of screen. I did have my doubts before but am now a total convert to the biblio grim reaper damn it. I can here the floor joists under my library sighing with relief.

I received one for my birthday and love it so far. The print is much crisper than on many paperbacks.
