I think Renard was describing Congress except they use the media and special interest groups to sling shit at each other..

perhaps our vilest creation since we hunted and gathered...were the creation of politicians who make us gather for them and make us hunt other humans.

Here's your answer, Shining Eye:

"Maybe in order to understand mankind we have to look at that word itself. MANKIND. Basically, it's made up of two separate words: 'mank' and 'ind.' What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind."

Get an old washpail, fill it with warm water and sit in it in the evenings when you're watching TV/surfing the net.

If they're real bad go to the Doctor and get some suppositries.

Eat more fibre.

I was gonna say get a 3 inch long wire brush attached to an electric drill and clean house. Then replace your colon with a 2" wide 6 inch long PVC pipe. You can use a sink stopper for a sphincter. If you need to pay for this, you can always store people's gerbils in there while they are on vacation or smuggle contraband. There is no man brave enoug to pull a 2" white rubber sink stopper out of a nervous plane or bus passenger.

Hope this helps...

and oh yeah...eat more fibre, drink more water. Stay away from MRE's

RYP - the man's a genius. Just figured out a cure for travellers diarrhea.

Ohter scourges: reality tv, sperm, neo-conservatism, charles de gualle, zits.

Seriously Eye, thinking of one belief or philosphy as a scourge is wrong. Where following a belief to the point that no others exist - thats the scourge

If I had to choose anything from the list, I'd probably go with slavery.
At least with Communism, you were only at your government's mercy,
Slavery puts you at everyone's.
When life itself seems lunatic, who knows where madness lies? To surrender dreams - -this may be madness; to seek treasure where there is only trash. Too much sanity may be madness! But maddest of all - -to see life as it is and not as it should be.

I voted colonialism because it has been responsible for the decimation of millions of indigenous people throughout history.
I mean if we are really talking about a scourge, then that is my choice.
Passion is necessity. It is not diligence, or simply being committed to a goal. Passion consumes you while you chase down your goal. Passion should always be your natural state of mind for it is what sparks momentum and sets the pace.
