Trace Systems, a systems integrator and technical services firm that provides communications, networking, IT and IA services and solutions for the US Department of Defense and Homeland Security, has won a contract to support the US Army's 7th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade (7th TTSB). More than 40 IT and Information Assurance (IA) Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will support the Joint Network Operations Control Center – Afghanistan (JNCC-A). Awarded after a full and open competition, the multi-year contract, including options, has a total value in excess of US$55 million and is Trace Systems’ second prime contract in support of the JNCC-A.

The United States Forces - Afghanistan (USFOR-A) requires Command, Control, Communications, and Computer Information (C4I) support to remain in one enterprise program that supports planning, program management, integration, operation, and maintenance of the Combined Joint Operations Area - Afghanistan (CJOA-A) level communications and computer networks. The JNCC-A is the NetOps execution arm of USFOR-A J6, and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of communications and computer networks throughout the Afghanistan Area of Responsibility (AOR).

Support provided by Trace Systems will enable USFOR-A and JNCC-A to achieve full interoperability of C4I systems on and off the battlefield among US, Allied and Coalition forces, while also gaining efficiencies of scale to establish and maintain world-class network operations.

Trace Systems has been supporting communications, networking, and IT requirements throughout South-West Asia since 2002. Its personnel are located throughout Afghanistan, supporting the US Army and the Combined Joint Task Force – 82nd (CJTF-82nd) at numerous locations including Bagram, Kandahar, Kabul, Sharana, and Jalalabad. In addition, Trace personnel provides support at more than 20 Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) and outposts throughout the CJOA-A. Through the contract awarded by the Army after a full-and-open competition, Trace Systems and subcontractors CSC and ManTech International will provide highly-skilled IT experts to augment current JNCC-A military and other US Government personnel.

* Based in McLean, Virginia, Trace Systems provides comprehensive communications, networking, information technology, information assurance, and other C4ISR solutions and services. The company supports the US Departments of Defense and Homeland Security, and has staff located in Washington DC, New Jersey, Germany, and Afghanistan. The company develops and supports currently deployed and next-generation C4ISR systems.
