PLEASE post correct information. This may be the first TURBANED SIKH to join the U.S. military...but certainly not the FIRST Sikh in decades. There is a SIKH FEMALE COLONEL, among others. After much research, I may be the second (or third just in case) FEMALE SIKH to join. I joined at 17 years old and served from 2001 to 2009, and went to OIF as Team One in 2003-2004.

Other than that, proud to be a Sikh, proud to be an American, proud to be a female service member.
