RR3 is in a small wooden box in the back of my Pajero beginning his long journey home.

I never had the pleasure of meeting him, missed the BFC party by a few weeks but Jeff travelled a lot as I tend to do so I figured one of these days we would end up on the piss in some shitty 3rd world city. Jeff was what this site was all about, I remember his first post well over 10 years ago, he was askin for a sitrep on KSA and we have been following his posts from DPs the world over ever since. The Flag on the pirate ship BFC flies at half mast this week, rest in peace Brother Rescue, rest in peace. My heart felt condolences to his family.

What a lovely eloquent tribute, Sir Rickshaw.

Thank you for all you've done Robert.

People will sometimes plant trees where a person is buried. A person should be only buried one or two feet below the surface...and in a wooden box. This is the correct way IMHO. The tree will take the the person and the box into itself. You can watch the tree grow knowing that it has become that person. It's a nice way to remember someone.

You did a good thing,Robert.

"huge RR3 sized hole in the spiritus mundi"

I would hope that we all are an interesting unique thread in a beautiful carpet. Won't be anyone like RR3 but hopefully he inspired others to be brave and be there for their friends.

of course! & Ultraswain, I would gather that the hole feels large because your own soul is so large, as evidenced by your deeds and adventures & that many here are the legacy of RR3. So carry on with your bad self. You'll only make the world better and Lord knows that is what we need.
