What's Happening in St. Louis?

Postby nanuq » Fri Jun 29, 2012 2:40 am

Any thoughts? I know this news story is a few days old.

Military Rolls Tanks Onto St. Louis Streets...But Why?

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/guest-post-military-rolls-tanks-st-louis-streetsbut-why

I have to say that this event, which is being labeled a "training exercise", makes very little sense to me. U.S. Army troops all the way from Maryland running open exercises in armored personnel carriers on the busy streets of St. Louis? I know Maryland is a small state, but is there really not enough room at Ft. Detrick to accommodate a tank column and some troops? Are there not entire fake neighborhood and town complexes built with taxpayer dollars on military bases across the country meant to facilitate a realistic urban environment for troops to train in? And why travel hundreds of miles to Missouri? At the very least, this is a massive waste of funds.

On the other hand, such an action on the part of the Department of Defense makes perfect sense if the goal is to acclimate citizens to the idea of seeing tanks and armed military acting in a policing capacity. Just check out the two random idiots the local news affiliate picked to interview in St. Louis on the subject. Both state that they think the exercise is a "great idea", because having the military on the streets would help to "reduce crime":

I suspect that the news affiliate did not go out of its way to get any counter-opinions, even though they admitted to being contacted by those voicing concerns over martial law.

Even so, it's sad and simultaneously terrifying that there are plenty of mindless dupes out there who do not understand the dangers of the Army crossing the Rubicon and acting in a civil law enforcement capacity, never mind that they are completely ignorant of the fact that it violates the Posse Comitatus Act. One of the interviewees even points out that in some countries they don't use police at all; only military. This is true. We call those countries "tyrannies"...

Add to the mix the reality that the DOD refuses to respond to any further inquiries by the press concerning details of the training, and you get yet another suspicious instance of behavior on the part of the establishment that seems preparatory for domestic action. I believe that the high frequency at which these activity reports have been coming in over the past year is certainly cause for alarm...

At this point in history we are just a short cab ride away from social unrest that will put US soldiers on American streets to maintain order. Once the dollar is not the reserve currency of the world bread will go to $100 a loaf and those retired cops and firefighters in towns like Stockton Cali whose pensions are evaporating will shoot up and burn everything in sight. You can't expect the current crop of cops and firefighters to stop them so the Marines will have to. May you live in interesting times, muffuggas. Kyle Bass says go long on bullets, beans and bullion.

Not tanks, and not enough wheels for a Stryker or a Fox . I'm actually not certain what it is off the top of my head.
Edit: found it, M1117 Armored Security Vehicle

Also, Posse Comitatus gets thrown all over the place without the basic thought that there are ways around it.
The Insurrection Act which let military in on the LA Riots in '92.
The Force Acts in Little Rock Arkansas in '58.
Or at the least, congress giving the okay.

Here we go...
U.S. Army truck drivers-in-training rolling around St. Louis
It was the 345th MP company, a reserve unit based out of St. Louis. The only people who came from Maryland were 10 trainers from Fort Meade.
Four of the vehicles will be driven on St. Louis' major highways during daylight hours, Bond said. The training is routine for military police companies and regularly conducted in cities nationwide.
Police said the trucks may also be seen in parts of the police department's Sixth District, where the Army Reserve Center is located.

Tinfoil, I say Tinfoil.

Seriously, where the hell are we (people who drive combat vehicles for a living) supposed to learn to drive armored vehicles in traffic? You may have driven a lot of things, but until you start trying to operate something like an ASV, M1151, or MATV you have no idea how really complicated they are to drive. This is plain old AT for the guard or reserve, it happens every year.

Missouri, of course, is (according the the One True God) the site of the Garden of Eden, where artifacts of incredible power were hidden by our Creator Himself from the imperfect children of Adam and Eve, lest their fearsome authority be abused. This, in fact, is why the Nazis declared war on the USA, because their secret texts showed that if they recovered and utilized these artifacts, they would control not only the Earth but every soul upon it, and all the planets of the universe. For decades, the Elders of the Salt Lake Temple - knowing that their most precious texts had somehow been leaked to the SS - went to great lengths to cover up this horrible breach, vowing that until humankind re-attained perfection, these relics would remain in their hiding place.

That was until "the incident."

Less than two weeks ago, after Rupert Murdock ridiculed Romney's team, saying he should "hire some pros" or lose to Obama, Mittens contacted Karl Rove about working together. Karl, being the devious little butterball that he is, spiked Mittens' decaf coffee with truth serum, and began asking if there was anything that the Romneys needed to hide. To be fair, Rove wasn't doing this as part of his vile quest to achieve political omnipotence, a dream he has held close to his shriveled heart ever since that bitch, Barbara Welch, called him a fat pig and refused to go to the dance with him in seventh grade. No, this was merely a standard part of his vetting process - to learn about all the skeletons in a potential client's closet, which is just good business, and compile any potential blackmail material in case the relationship went sour.

And that's when Mittens let slip the terrible secret so many brave and good men had fought, and died, to protect since WWII ended. The Garden, the Relic, the ancient repository beneath the streets of St Louis...

The only response I can even begin to formulate:

You are nuttier than squirrel turds.

I mean that in the most sincere way.

Nuts.

I thought the Garden of Eden was located on the planet Kolob. Would the Mormons lie about that?

All you common sense types suck the fun right out of a good conspiracy/NWO/fall of democracy thread. Or are you part of a larger disinformation effort?

Well, sorry Nanuq - looks like the U.S. is yet again not collapsing.

Keep at it, N. Maybe one day you'll be right. I'd go the ranch against it, but there's always hope !

Thanks for your continual wishing of ill upon us !

Seriously, it’s fucking Annual Training. This event also corresponds to:

• Three days of people trying to remember they are in the military
• Increased alcohol consumption
• MRE consumption
• MRE constipation
• Increased beef jerky consumption
• At least one military vehicle destroyed by the FA while “burning powder”
• Officers realizing that the NCO’s have better civilian jobs than they do
• At least one person referred to as “Pappy” retiring at the age of 60
• At least one water trailer catching on fire (mine was south of Atlanta)

If you can make a NWO conspiracy out of that, you are truly are gifted.

More of making observations than actual ill-wishing. Still, here's a new one for you...
