Work in Montreal for Anglophones with limited French

Can anyone suggests way to pay the rent in Montreal for an anglophone with limited French that don't involve porn? I'm trying to bring my French up to speed, but it's going to take a couple of months. Maybe longer. I'm looking for technical writing, PR work, and, hell, even bartending.

Why not move an hour down the road to Ottawa? Its more boring and espensive, but at least they speak English.
