Nobody ever said the Peterson's were slinging crack. They were, however, broke. Like most Americans. Just because you live in a nice house and drive a fancy SUV doesn't mean your rich. Not when the bank owns the house and financier owns the SUV and all of your future income is already spent.

In fact, you can gift anyone up to $11,000 per year income tax free for the recipient. It's a good way to transfer your estate to your kids before you bite the big one.

Being able to "gift" your children more than most people around the world make in a year isn't a sign of "wealth"?

Wooaah Nelly!! .....back up a bit, the Nick Berg scenario was no kind of psyop - just skillfully arranged technocrat deployment that failed for any number of reasons.

Not the least of which being Nick's own faith and conscience plus how his work rubbed his captors who sincerely distrust anything and everything the boy might bring into the outback, even already half-way islamiic himself.

Far, far better it would have been if he had married into Iraqi family first and then possibly worked at semi-surface say in another year or two, or however it may have turned out unprescribed and NOT so closely arranged.
