Yes, irradiate and chemo the fuck out of it.

My neighbors are semi-hippies, and when he came down with some brutal form of leukemia, like a 9% chance of survival or some shit, everyone was telling him to eat baking soda and kale, and stay positive. He was thinking about going the Steven Jobs route, but she beat the living shit out of him and dragged his cancerous ass into 2016 at top-notch Emory. Fast forward four years, and after a nightmare nine months of chemo, radiation, bone marrow transplants, and everything else that they could afford, he's been cancer-free ever since. Now he's announced he's quitting his job and going to graduate school, so the wife may end up killing him anyway. But at least that will be a quick death.

Does it have an actual name, eg meningioma etc?

acoustic neuroma.

About 90% sure that is what it is at least. I find out for sure next week.

I hope it is this as it has a 1% fatality rate and even then it is only when it is very large.

Reality, too. I've known too many people who were like, "But I don't want to bankrupt my family" and let treatment slide. And now they're dead. To hell with that. As long as you aren't screwing over your kids, and Kurt doesn't have any, then cancer is a great time to literally go for broke.

So it's a growth and not cancerous?
An acoustic neuroma is a noncancerous growth that develops on the eighth cranial nerve. Also known as the vestibulocochlear nerve, it connects the inner ear with the brain and has two different parts. One part is involved in transmitting sound; the other helps send balance information from the inner ear to the brain.

Acoustic neuromas -- sometimes called vestibular schwannomas or neurolemmomas -- usually grow slowly over a period of years. Although they do not actually invade the brain, they can push on it as they grow. Larger tumors can press on nearby cranial nerves that control the muscles of facial expression and sensation. If tumors become large enough to press on the brain stem or cerebellum, they can be deadly.

I hope so. Good luck.

Ever read that NYT column Think Like a Doctor, where a medical case study is presented for analysis, discussion and diagnosis?

Anyway, excellent chance that the possibility you described is correct. I hope this does not affect your hearing. Didn't you once sustain an ear injury from a trash-can bomb near the Aya Sofia?
Could this Trump Tumor be a later result of that?

Actually the Trump tumor may not be at all related to the trash can bomb of 20+ years ago but it instead may be the cause of my hearing loss and not the bomb.

The bomb seemed to fit as an explanation at the time because it was a bomb. Bombs are much less subtle than brain tumors, so like the greaseball that always gets laid at the club, the bomb got the attention while the tumor played wingman.

That is my present. Glasses? Check. Hearing Aids? Check. Tie and outdated collar? Check.

We are pretty much just walking, talking symptoms of what is wrong with us.
