Why don't you go and buy copy of The Economist or the Financial Times. You might learn something.

Here's your first lesson, libtard. They are the sewer rags that were read by the basrard bankers who got the economy collapsed in th first place!!!
Why don't you go back to reading goldilocks and other fairytale. Life happily ver after, yeah!
DickPaw, I am convinced that you'd be the omega male of Mantown, you golden shower taking, meat-gazing dandified bitch-boy.

A small flotilla of British fishermen motored up the Thames to protest at the dead hand of the EU which has destroyed the British fishing industry while Spanish trawlers clean up the place, ignoring every rule.

They were met by this, a bunch of champagne socialist establishment drones, led by none other than 'Sir' Bob Geldof.

This typifies the attitude of the establishment, and know-nothing propagandised progressive' thinkers like Snaark. It doesn't matter what happens in the vote next week, the EU project will end in blood. The EU is undemocratic, illiberal and intolerant. Obama urging British people to remain in such an institution was supreme hypocrisy.

Snaark- to my surprise Douchie's last post is spot on. I was reading the Economist back before it was compromised. If that and the FT are where you get all your news then perhaps it is you who should broaden your informational horizons. You allude to a wealth of knowledge yet fail to refute in other than the vaguest generalities. You are entitled to hold 100% fact free opinions. On the battlefield of debate however, you sir are a plunger.

Very cute, both of you.

Nowhammy maybe you ought to go back to school. The history of Europe reads something like this: thousands of years of continuous warfare, injustice, poverty and starvation culminating in two world wars that killed tens of millions and razed most major cities, then the EU.

MJK I really can't be arsed spending 30 sec finding an article to prove my point to someone who believes 911 conspiracy theories and who thinks YouTube is a more reliable source of news than The Economist.

Maybe I was being too generous with the label 'plunger'. But you made my point in fine socialist synchophant style. The choice of youtube was to free you of the odious chore of having to read. I'm going to guess that you already suckle at the EU slush fund teat in some form. Your posts have 'government employee' writ large across them.

The EU is in it up to its wattled neck as far as war goes; just not at home. Was that not in one of your copies of the Economist or FT?

The unfunny comedian (PR plant if ever I saw it) and the shrieking harpie (another PR plant who was giggling after her mock rage assault) can fuck off to Brussels any time they like. I'm sharing a beer with this guy. It amuses me how right on lefties have so fully embraced a big business agenda, to the detriment of the working class, who are being exploited by gangmaster tactics.

And the guy should not have conceded the point that all our rights derive from Europe, this is simply not true. Mainland european countries were goosestepping and lopping off heads while Britain was establishing a justice system and universal suffrage that is the envy of the world.

Never voted in my life (fuck that, I got a job), however for the first time I've actually registered to vote. I'm voting OUT. Fuck the EU and their bullshit.

Snaark...peace in Europe has nothing whatsoever to do with the EU. It's all the nuclear weapons we're pointing at each other. Hence why things went quiet in 1945 and not 1970 or whenever the EU was conceived.

If you think the EU has changed people, take a look at the footage during the European champions these days. Ukrainians, Poles, Germans all kicking the shit out of each other. Despite decades of EUtopia bullshit and indoctrination, the centuries old hatred is still there.

Not the first attempt at a unified Europe - or the British resistance thereto -they will always remember who they are.

Freedom comes at a price - always has always will - downplayed by those who think less of your life than their money.

As Moses said to the recalcitrant slaves in the desert...you can't serve God and getting by.

I haven't really kept up with the Brexit stuff, but one of my clients is based in Liverpool, and I work with three young-ish (30s) guys there. None of them feels super strongly either way, but all three say they'll vote to stay in. The two younger ones enjoy the freedom of having an EU passport—they don't want to live and work in the UK their entire lives, and one of them has been learning Spanish because he's set on moving to Spain. Brexit wouldn't make that impossible, but it would be a lot more difficult.

The older gentleman is convinced that this is a conspiracy to privatize everything, including the NHS, which he thinks is a bad idea. But, he's been trying to move to the USA, so he's prepared to pay for health care anyway and therefore doesn't care if the UK leaves and his conspiracy comes to pass.

Anyway, anecdotes are not evidence, but just figured I'd share.

Norway and Iceland seemed to have kept their fisheries in tact. Being able to use gunboats to drive off trawlers seems to do amazing things for preserving habitat and fisheries.

Traveling in the EU certainly is alot easier. The best arguments for the UK to stay have been from people who point out that getting medical treatment in Europe used to be a bitch before the EU and now its easier than ever. Same with those people who want to work in the EU and travel with just their own passport and little border checks.

But those people would have employment and health care within the UK if it left, the working class UK folks are getting screwed (fisherman flotilla is a good example). The middle class Left and upper classes have always had contempt for the working class of their same skin color and their aspirations and goals and then when that is denied by the management classes for more lofty ideals and keeping the managers in comfort and giving them an easier life it is amazing they are baffled that people like Trump and Sanders are supported and UKIP actually wins.

The marginal classes in the West used to be the illiterate and unskilled laborers. Now it is a given that if you cannot read and can only wield a hammer now and again that you are disenfranchised. Before you could at least work in a factory or on a farm, but now you will be on the dole or on the street. Now the margins have moved up to skilled trademen like fishermen, soon the margins will move up again until they snuff out the class of people taunting the fishermen for being "narrow minded".
