Those kind of articles are pretty European and North American centric. Meaning "Europe Should Open It's Borders" or "The US and Canada should Open Their Borders" but there are other wealthy places in the world that no one is suggesting they open their borders to help alleviate poverty...Like Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

The other thing it fails to mention is that a country like Japan, which followed the "We cannot join you so we will be like you instead" had the fastest industrial revolution in the world. In 50 years they went from 17th century feudal state to on par or exceeding "The West" in production, standard of living and warfare.

Close borders but no need to be a dick about it with internment camps. One thing I have noticed in the US is whenever there is a raid that finds undocumented workers, the workers get detained but the companies that hired them get off scott free or with some stupid fines. I do not blame people for seeking a better life but I do blame people for smuggling them here, perhaps if we enforced the laws we have already and picked on the strong instead of the weak lives would improve globally as well.

Knowing your citizens can just leave and get a better life discourages countries to try to improve the lives of their citizens.

Without borders we would have nothing to fight over. We would just go over and punch the closest guy to us.

Good thing this dude isn't a lawyer...

Injustice, bigotry and inequality are of course deplorable but borders are one of the main reasons we have national (and international) laws that are actually enforceable as opposed to whatever League of Nations sov cit mumbo-jumbo this dude wishes there was.
