I'm in a sauna nearly every day. It's relatively easy to round up Vodka still since liquor stores have been considered "essential services" around here.
Belarus here we come...

Coronavirus: Belarus president refuses to cancel anything - and says vodka and saunas will ward off COVID-19
Professional football has ground to a halt around the world because of the coronavirus pandemic, with one notable exception.

Sunday 29 March 2020 22:14, UK

COVID-19Coronavirus

Few measures have been enforced to curb coronavirus in Belarus - instead, people are being urged to drink vodka and go to saunas.

The country - specifically its president - has shrugged off concerns about the COVID-19 outbreak, starkly illustrated on Sunday with the nation's football matches continuing as normal.

As most countries enforce strict measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus, fans continued to shuffle into football grounds as they would any other weekend.

Belarus has no plans to postpone matches or cancel the football season

Few social distancing measures appear to be in force, but spectators at some grounds did have their temperatures checked before being granted entry.

A small number of fans opted to wear face masks while huddled together in packed stands, but they were few and far between.

Belarusian football organisers have said they have no intention of postponing matches or cancelling the season - and the country's leader has also shown that he is keen for sporting fixtures to continue.

President Alexander Lukashenko took part in an ice hockey match on Saturday - controversially declaring that sport "is the best anti-virus remedy".

People always tend to think their cultural traditions will work best for whatever it is.

I agree about the sauna but not the vodka. Saunas and hot tubs can induce a fever and fight an illness. I have used them to (what I believe) cure colds. I jump in a 113 degree hot tub, sit until my body temp reads about 104 degrees, hold it until I start to fever hallucinate while drinking about 2 liters of water. and then get out, take a tylenol and go to bed.

So this means if I died of corona virus my wife will find my body in the hot tub.

A few studies show saunas reduce a LOT of different ailments.

That settles it then.

I am hoping big gold medallions can cure stuff as well.

Aren't you supposed to get flogged by babushkas with birch faggots during the sauna?

I was trying to finish some reports last night before going on days off, when one of my beat partners brought in a DUI driver for a chemical test. The friggin machine is in the same room where we do reports, and the douche started coughing all over the room and saying he has the Covid. Then he told some jokes about pedophilia and asked why none of us were laughing. He's probably blowing smoke, but I guess I'll see in a couple of weeks if I start coming down. Maybe I'll reanimate as a wight.

Could have told him the sobriety test now involves a "Pine Sol Diptank" but then first you would need to have a Pine-Sol diptank.

NYC just passed 12k deaths since they started finding a lot of dead people in their dwellings. I am still in hiding watching my grocery bill climb.

As are many, I have joined the ranks of the unemployed due to the current adventure in infectious disease. One advantage of living on a farm in the middle of nowhere is that social distancing is just Thursday for us. No one ever comes out this far anyway, so if the bug is going to make it here, it would have to be after the fall of humanity as the infected zombies come staggering down the road.....into double tapped headshots..... so I'm fairly confident we will survive Coronapocalypse. It has given me a lot more time to work with my bees, however, and I'm thinking when this is all over I may just start the transition to full time beekeeping. A lot less stress.

Mrs. Pelon has noted a marked increase in firearms sales during all of this (she works from home anyway so nothing has changed for her and her world of gun sales). I suppose folks are making use of the stimulus checks that started hitting bank accounts as they order guns at a "feverish" pace.

More people outside, seems like everyone got a dog and/or a bike. Lockdown 'till start May over here, 8 days later already for France...
Figure they will keep prolonging it in pieces instead of telling folks from the start this 'll take months. The psych fallout will get a lot worse which truly sucks for those affected. Masks seem crucial only when/if they can be provided.

Haven't kept up with the numbers/testing/whatever updates. Time will tell, elected officials probably don't so what else is new.

That's punny.

No stimulus (yet), money keeps coming in thank Gud. Groceries are a lot cheaper than eating out. So is drinking at home. No dry-cleaning, housekeeper or (new) clothing. Pornhub premium is free. Figure I'll lose most of what I save either to taxes or on the stock market ;-)

Firearm possesion is a bit different over here.
