They somewhat relaxed the restrictions here in Tunisia a few weeks ago. Curfew now doesn't start until 10pm and there's no mandatory 7 day hotel quarantine upon arrival. You just have to do 48 hours at home, then another PCR test to get out. As you can imagine, cases seem to be increasing since the changes!

13 or so months after it all started, lock-down that is, still no shambling corpses.

Upped my cooking game, cleaned out some spare rooms because why not, got a formal bathrobe, income/bills/amenities/supplies/etc all good, quit smoking the ganja, not drinking more, lots of reading, less audiovisual stimulants, no-one I really care about died, so all in all ( and unlike the majority of the local populace it seems) I don't complain.

This time last year I was half expecting to have to hunt my fellow man for meat by now, coping is about lowering one's expectations IMO.

We got Hepatitis A.

Delivery food. Probably salad from a Turkish place I like.

Gotta remember: Never order salad.

Anyway its mild symptoms and I am booze free now (oddly enough I am finding a strong chamomile tea actually puts me to sleep harder than a night time brandy).

My wife gets jabbed on Friday and I have my second Jab next Wednesday. We are still gonna be masked and all that (this thing is not gonna be over thanks to idiots) we are just gonna travel and socialize more.

Once we get over Hep A.

Oh my god that is awful :-( For while Spokane was like the Hepatitis A capital. When I started traveling abroad more to less developed countries I decided that getting vaccinated against that was a good idea. Esp. since living seemed to be a hot spot.

Maybe.
When I was a Social worker we got Hep B jabs but maybe an A was thrown in there too.
Switched from scotch / brandy at night to strong chamomile tea just to be safer.
What is odd is that chamomile knocks me out way more than booze.

I got a jab in 99 for Hep A then another one in 2000 and was told that I would be protected for 10 years. Since then I've been told the protection lasts indefinitely. From your experience it could be that advice is not correct.

Silly of me to have expected some more solidarity with fellow citizens from you.
Eh? What exactly is your idea of solidarity?
Guess I shouldn't have been so harsh on you but hindsight etc we all knew this was going to take some time. Good news and popular relaxation notwithstanding it ain't over yet...

Then again being able to touch children will be legal for me again soon ;-)
No better way to have your personal space invaded than getting hugged by a six year old. Banging adults isn't even a close second IMO.

Everything is just back on normal, 80% of people vaccinated, all travelers are vaccinated or required to quarantine

Handful of people have covid, there has been 1 death in the last six months

The only shitty thing is that this summer sucks and it's been snowing

NYC is just short of 70%

A friend of mine in Utah died last week after "a brief illness" and Utah has areas that are climbing. I am not sure if it was COVID but that is still a chance there.
