You know, for all the rootin tootin crap about America being the best at just about everything, you guys sure display an amazing amount of pants-pissing lack of faith about its resilience.

I had no idea Lynn Rothschild was Jewish. The Economist was a fave for a while and then I found their work to be slanted away from what I believe so I pass on it. As for conspiracies I am more interested in what led to the downfall of Polo's Bastards. Will you need a second post to explain the first when you try to bring me up to speed on that?

Tell us about your previous puppy kicking experiences that led to this comparison.

The US is a hollowed out shell of what it used to be spiritually and otherwise. Shit went sideways for us after 1947 for sure and maybe much earlier.

lol - nice backtrack, but you were pretty damn specific about not "putting money in the pocket of Rothschild" but now it's you just didn't gel with the content?

Still not seeing the connection there ROB. Global elitists whose media slant information away from what I perceive to be the truth come in all different ethnicities, religions and nationalities.

I am becoming concerned at the declining quality of your trolling. You're not using clear plastic dry cleaning bags as antiviral protection I hope. But I get why you show up here; the traffic count is higher than you had when, well, you know......

Sure, but the really bad ones are all jews, right?

And let's face it, this wouldn't stick to you like dogshit on your shoe without years revealing your colours here.

Thanks for reminding why economics is the softest of social sciences...

If you have the spare room, have at it. Your money, your choice.

Don't need no apocalypse or a can of beans to force someone into performing oral sex. But yeah, I remember.

Consider your point made. Can we go back to addressing the message instead of the messenger?

Seriously doubt the food or stores 'll run out over here, EU still paying people to not till their fields so as to stablise prices. Germany was shuttling Romanians by airplane to harvest asparaguses/asparagi/Sprängel. Farmers were killing themselves before Corona hit. Third world keeps getting screwed over.

My only concern is the united approach to the fallout of this crisis. Merkel consolidated her position, Macron is losing power as we speak. Italy and Spain seem to think this is yet another reason not to have their sh!t together and ask for more free moneyz. Ah, democracy...

Added to that Baroness von der Leyen is proving as effective at pulling the troops together as she was as German defence minister.

I don't think Merkel is consolidating anything. She looks like someone who desperately wants to retire. I always expect her to say "just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in..."

But yeah, I agree this will lead to Eurocrisis 2.0, or 20.0. But I'd never underestimate the EUs phenomenal ability to muddle through.

The EU will muddle through.

But the Euro will fall eventually.

Maybe, but the euro benefits Germany more than anyone. They're not going to give it up so easily.

Right up until they go into serious recession and can't inflate their way out of it.

Bad choice of words on my part. Her approval ratings seem excellent.

They've made it through losing 2 world wars and a re-unification process in the past 105 years without resorting to tentacle porn.
They'll be just fine.

I'm not sure you can inflate your way out of a recession when the entire world is in recession. And inflation doesn't seem to be very easy to achieve these days. But I agree that the euro doesn't seem like such a great idea anymore, precisely for that reason, though it wont be Germany that needs to devalue its currency. As fucked up as things are going to get here, it's going to get way more fucked up in other places.
