I have a pile of subscribed feeds in my Twitter, big name news and lots of smaller ones. WION, France 24, CNC3TV, Reuters, Associated Press, Middle East Monitor, CSIS, KYIV Independant, UN News, Breakthrough News, Indo-Pacific News - Geo-Politics & Military News, Al Jazeera, etc etc. Lots of local news in places I have friends, plus lots of intelligence and military and oil and gas stuff, etc. plus online subscriptions to NY Times, Globe & Mail, Economist and Foreign Affairs.

I use the same. Do look up NewsNow to add to your library if you do not have it. Very useful tool, if not the most useful that I use.

Also, not for news, but statistics (basis) CIA World Fact Book (open to anyone). It can be a little dated, but a great place to start.
