What I said is true, you won’t get a job with the city or the federal government with a weapons conviction. I don’t necessarily agree with it, but those are the facts, dude.

No, i dont know how it is..... And wrong again James, sounds like a Virginia problem you're tryin to push on us. Personally I have no truck, dealings or negotiations with states like Massachusetts, News York, California and Virginia that hobble and cripple 2nd Amendment Rights.

And yes Virginia, any Policeman can tell you about intuitive recognition on sight regarding who is (or not) on the side of the law. So we really dont need legislators and lawyers telling us what's statutory or not.

We have pretty decent gun laws here. We are NOTHING like the other states you mentioned.

yorick, i agree with you about 99%...but don't give me this "police intuitive horseshite" tripe...fuck man i can make you and any other bugger guilty as adam with a look into your soul...by the way, were you speeding past that 7-11 on Mccardle on Octber 11th? you smell guilty..

besides, policemenn are some of the most dangerous people in amerika and if you don't believe me just ask one. i have a pint with them and they would agree and have a laugh...they fucking mean business and they do shoot from the hip..
where are you going? why don't you walk the wheel with us? what is the matter my american friend? what has upset you?

Think about it S/O.... Policework and Prostitution are the 2 most intuitive demanding professions on earth. And if either a policeman or hooker steps as a stranger into a crowded saloon, either on or off duty, they will more accurately read the character of saloon patrons than can anybody else. Each makes a living out of reading other people's faces, interpreting body language and recognizing intent. And their survival under often dangerous circumstances depends on this.

Two questions:

1. So suppose one actually pulled this off. Could you carry in the whole state, or just your city?

2. What sort of special skills? I mean I doubt they want to learn how to tie a bowline, or need help with their math homework...:(

Dude, in case you haven’t read any of my other posts on the G&W forum, I am quite obviously pro-firearms rights. So stop Hating on me like I am some Lieberman anti-gun communist.

Virginia is one of the most pro-firearms rights states in the US, we have concealed weapons permits (without cause), open carry, VA Constitution has a “Right to Hunt” amendment in it and “insta-check” for firearms purchases (buy and go within 10 min, unless the system is down or slow). The only complaint I have is the 1 handgun a month law, but beside that there only 2 or 3 other states in the US that are as pro-firearms rights as Virginia.

the entire state (usually) and then you could apply for the “only issued to LE” 50 state carry permit that would allow you to carry in the entire us (more or less).

You are a native French speaker right? Most departments would kill for a free translator, everyone has a skill that an agency could use or just spare time to help out.

All departments are under funded and under staffed in the US and most would welcome a citizen that wanted to help out for free (just don’t say why)

Then how come Va fires city, state and fedral employees for misdemeanor weapons violations? And whats all this flak we hear elsewhere about Va gunshows being among the tightest in the nation? Also the Brady State Report Card rates it only a "C" instead of a more respectable "D" or "F"

Anyway, this is a good idea that can really help out gun owners in states with commie like gun laws.

Good Luck! And join the NRA to protect your rights.

Ooh, don't get me started. Here in Canuckistan we encourage everyone to get involved in that brutal bloodsport called Hockey as early in their life as possible, and cheer when people get their cheekbones shattered and noses bent backwards while on the ice. But tell someone you're an avid target shooter for SPORT and they think you're a mad, cold blooded killer. It's the taboo behind the whole damned thing, an irrational fear, and I dare say it's been engineered by the nanny-state left. The anti-gun coalitions love selective ignorance to achieve their global goals. But I digress.

Damn, I would have figured it would be more like the northern Midwest US where every self respecting nine year old male has a .22 rifle under the bed...
