technophobes, or people who lose the chargers to their GPS. No, don't look at me like that. Here's how it works. 1. Go to Google Maps and type in your journey. 2. Write out the search results on the Paper GPS, filling in the turns and mileage in the correct boxes. 3. Bring to car. 4. Turn on ignition. 5. Drive. Cost is $6.95 for 40 sheets.

That's funny. It just goes to prove you can sell anything these days and make money, regardless how ridiculous it is. People are that stupid.

mapquest.com enter directions/location, press print and it's over - for $0.00.

If that doesn't work, I'm pretty sure a local map will.

Any GPS worth having doesn't use rechargeable batteries, either.

I've used about 5 different models from the $100 cheapos to the $10k Trimble survey grade models (and the Trimbles had rechargeable batteries). The best ones run on 2 AAs.

Trimbles were required on some of my gov't projects (which I no longer fuck with) because of documentation issues. At one time I was considering purchasing one of these. I'm glad I never did. Leasing will always be a better option from my standpoint.

Also - I've got 4 pairs of 2400 maH rechargeable NiMh AA batteries and a quick charger and I don't even use them. A charge lasts for a few days max, making them all but worthless to 99% of the stuff I need batteries for.

Rechargeable=worthless except for powering laptops and vehicles.

I'd stick with the Garmin 2-AA models for as long as they make them. Nothing (so far) beats Alkaline power for powering GPS receivers.
