Blue Camo?

Postby tonelar » Sun May 04, 2008 7:17 pm

Hi everyone,

Are blue camo bdus a "real" issued uniform anywhere?

I see them around, but have often wondered if they are used anywhere professionally.

Maybe they're merely a fashion thing?

Mall Ninjas use it.

I believe one of the Commandos from Cobra had a set also.

Mostly used in Police and Paramilitary units. But to the best of my knowledge, it is not issued to military forces.

It's in common use in Sri Lanka, mainly by air force and police units. You'll see it all over CMB airport, manning the armed checkpoints.

Pakistan has it in similar use. And some ex-Soviet bloc places, like the Ukraine. Iranian airforce also uses it in really virulent blue.

Italian forces used to have a really funky purple/blue version... probably designed by Gucci or Prada.

I've got a pair of board shorts in blue camo, I'm sure it fools the sharks.

Some police in Ghana wear it, strangely, their uniforms have reflective stripes on the cuffs.

The new US Navy camis are a blue digital pattern.

It was used by the OPFOR (FORAD) at CENZUB (France) when I was there Sept 2007.

In conjunction with black boots and black assault vests, and cool-guy sunglasses...very fashionable.

Didn't blend into the urban environment worth crap though.
