Potentially what the doctor ordered.

That would be pretty nifty for the type of work you do.....esp. that picture taking with the coordinates added feature....

I can see a bunch of uses for this contraption - I always wanted one, but more than likely this will be a urban "civilized" version of the rubberized, nearly bulletproof unit that I would require. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase one that was the size of my current GPSmap76 models with all of their features and specs yet had the other stuff built in.

I tried their Ique for about 3 hours and although it did have an external antenna jack and cool touch software, battery usage was a joke and I felt I had to shelter it while I walked since it wasn't built to the same specs as their field models.

I was happy to see Garmin head this direction since its only natural that they fill that niche.

Sooner or later, they will come out with a unit that meets field criteria and then I'll own one.

The nüvifone is Garmin’s first device to include Google local search capability, which harnesses the vast point of interest information available from the world wide web. Nüvifone users can search for locations like “coffee shops” and Google will sort the results based on the user’s current location and relevance.

I see a great opportunity for Google to sell your location and movements to advertisers. Say goodbye to your privacy.
