depends on what kind of ammo you want. Cheaperthandirt.com & sportsmansguide.com are two I've seen have pretty good deals on bulk military 5.56mm ammo, but they also have junk - ammo is not all created the same you know. Lake city produced "green tip" = 62g penetrator is reportedly good stuff. There is also green tip made in other places that is not very good.

For the cheapest junk ammo, Wolf is where its at. The brass is actually steel and non-reloadable; increased wear on extractors, the powder is fairly dirty and precision is...well, forget it.

Another good place is Georgia Arms. They do reloads and good ones. I was pretty happy with the last batch I got from them.

For the utmost in precision and price is not the main consideration, go w/ Black hills ammo.

For the utmost in power, go Cor-bon (Dakota ammo I think is what they call themselves).

There are all kinds of places to get really good deals. I would check on firearms-related forums (just like you are here) and ask around for the best deal on the ammo you're looking for - you'll probably find some good deals.

Also, keep in mind that serious people will handload as the savings from 1,000 rounds or more (as compared to retail) might go a long way in paying for a progressive reloader, some dies, powder, brass and associated tools for rolling your own.

The ammoman prices for wolf 9mm luger are great $179 for 1000rd shipping included. Cabela's has them for $189, but that includes 2 dry boxes but they tack on an $8 shipping surcharge. $18 for some cool dry boxes? I have shot about 800 rounds of the Wolf rounds through the SW99 and I get about 5-8% jam rate. Still not bad considering the price and how much I shoot.

And the 7.62 x 39 prices aren't bad either. Thanks for the tip!

These guys are local for me, they have a wide variety of ammo and sometimes they have good deals.

I'm not a fan of cheaperthandirt anymore.

natchezss.com
Lets you calculate shipping before you ship. They have the CCI aluminum cased stuff pretty cheap too. Good idea to buy one box and try out before ordering in bulk.

Note- From what I have read do not use CCI Blazer Aluminum with a full-auto.

I like ammoman too.

Make sure its non-corrosive ammo, some places online try to pawn off cheap ex-soviet block corrosive ammo on people – if you shoot that junk you will have to use dentist tools to scrape the crap off

I think the best deals on ammo is at gun shows, bring cash and pool your money with some friends that also shoot – the more you buy the better the price

I hear this all the time and call bullshit. If you do the proper PM on your firearms after every time you shoot you'll be just fine.
I am the object of criticism around the world. But I think that since I am being discussed, then I am on the right track.
