It goes on my left hip with the Glock 21 on the right. An ESSE RC5. I have in it 14 tabs (1 week) of iOsat Potassium Iodide, a peanut lighter (the BEST survival lighter), AAA stainless flashlight and spare battery on 3/32 neck cord, mini bottle of BreakFree CLP oil, signal mirror, signal whistle, DEET mosquito spray pump bottle, foil survival blanket, cotton tender cords, string, metal wire for snares, thread, needle, fish hooks, monofilament line, large safety pins, small roll duck tape, button compass, beef jerky flat sticks, AquaSafeStaw+ water filter, and a couple of other cool things.

This is an awesome setup! I have a belt pouch that serves a similar purpose, but onboard one's sheath is a great idea.

My pouch's contents vary depending on the trip... we have probably a 70% overlap in terms of tools. Also, I like to carry a couple multi-vitamin pills and a couple of caffeine pills in case I need to fast-burn energy reserves for a hard push (after a sleepless night, hiking the last 5 miles through the snow, late-night alertness, etc.) The B-vitamins in the multi help your body burn glucose from food and tap glycogen in your fat cells (plus loads of other perks). Caffeine speeds up your metabolism and body temperature, and is a diuretic. Don't take either on an empty stomach, and as always, hydration is critical.

Uncool. I didn't get a welcome. But seriously, WAY to much for this thing. I'm perfectly content with my HEST.

Fair enough. I don't believe in karma, I just like the idea of it and I like cats more than most people. I was just kidding. I know I'm new here, but I'm here because this forum contains content that I'm quite interested in. Just trying to learn.
