I remember as a young punk being in the middle of nowhere in the Swedish countryside with a buddy and two cases of Spendrupps Old Gold (Starköl). Oddly, although we had no opener, we did have a hammer and chisel with us.

I learned two things;

1 a sharp rap with a hammer and chisel will de-swede a beer bottle leaving a scary sharp, jagged drinking hole and

2 12 hours later I learned that you could shit out a certain amount of broken glass without dying :)

$750 for a knife made out of Powdered Metal... I took a class last semester and learned all about that stuff... Pretty sure I wouldn't want a knife made out of it, it's really cool stuff and all, and I am sure it would be excellent if both sintered and heat treated properly and it's awesome what you can do with the stuff... But, I am sure I would break it; I am a fan of Spring steel knives... and some Tool Steel knives... someone else can buy the new "magic" steel knife of the week, I'll stick to what works.

Les Stroud, aka Survivorman, uses the $40- $50 Buck 119 Special.

I like him better anyway.

Les is a normal person. He also doesn't have to drink his own piss to survive. Les is welcome anytime at the Flag

Haha pretty funny. I can't help but watch Bear and think of how many people want to emulate his style and end up getting hurt. He is dangerous IMHO. As to the knife....um...not my cup of tea.

Welcome.

Bear is in the entertainment business. But I can tell you from experience if you do shit on TV, some will copy it.

Thanks for the welcome. Yes there's a lot of truth to that. I still blame MTV for the real world. Seems after that we have had a decade of reality programming that is absolutely mind numbing.

Too true. My roommate would watch it, but he grew annoyed when I kept saying stuff like, "Do not under any circumstances make a makeshift grappling hook and use it to cross a canyon."

Well then someone needs to hand me $100 on a TV show.

I would suggest that if you can't get the top off you HAVE stopped drinking

The trick is in knowing your limit - on what that certain amount of glass is before you die - not on beer. No such thing as a limit or a certain amount of beer.Its only binge drinking if you stop.

only a matter of time before Les cashes in. still love his show but this is too much money for a production Scandi knife.
