New Toy: PS 90 SBR

Postby Hitoru » Tue May 04, 2010 4:57 pm

This is my freinds new SBR, A 5.7x28 FNH PS 90. It was developed as a personnel defense weapon (PDW) and it's almost like shooting a paint ball marker. I really like the way the cases eject from the bottom of the weapon.

The best 5 round groupings I got were 2.5 inches @ 50 yards.

If you dont mind me asking - how much did it cost?

Out of curiosity do the P90's and alike have problems with jamming in the magazines when the shells are fed into the action?

No, I don't know what it cost . I'll inquire for you.

We fired 800 rounds with no stoppages. Just make sure you have the bolt fully cocked to the rear when inserting the magazine.
One thing to note, if you don't pick up all your brass it's the perfect size to puncture tires.

Have you seen the AR version if this?

It uses the same mags but on an AR lower

Yes sir we have, for a few years now and we don't know anyone that wants to pay $ 800 for a (locally) semi-obscure caliber upper. In addition to the $200 NFA tax for the rifle you have pictured.

Now if I got a sweet deal on one...

The compactness and 50 round capability. But it is slower to reload than a typical AR magazine.

And an even smaller bullet - I don't see the advantage

But it is "cool"

I can see an advantage if it's full of 5.7's.

The first time I saw a five seven I wanted one. 20 round mag on a pistol that has .22 magnum rifle power coming out a pistol. I always thought this would be a great small game pistol. ...but for the cost of what they want for one I consider it more a novelty than something interesting.

PS90 is an interesting concept.

If someone were to say hey - you've got an executive protection gig now - would you like a PS90 or a HK MP5-10 which would you prefer?
