Couldn't be arsed taking a photograph ofthe sign we have in our front door but it says "Trespassers will be eaten" with a picture of the Rhodesian Ridgeback we used to have. I'm sure the hound we have now would do a pretty good job. He certainly talks the talk. That seems to be enough for most people when he jumps up at the door !

Absolutely correct. Any decent lawyer would try to use these signs (and may well succeed) to demonstrate premeditation.

Premeditation = very very very legally bad
Self defense = permissible
