No, but we do share a birthday (although I would gladly share a knife with him).

In my opinion Ontario makes mass production crap. Thats why they dont' make a certain manufacturer's knife. They went out and trademarked "RAT" after boys walked due to quality problems. Ontario has nothing to do with this venture.

Lion Steel won Most Innovative Knife in the foreign category at the 2010 Blade show with their $450 folder. This knife is actually better and is half that price and giving folks more features. I used to be a product designer. I make shit work hard for customer's money :)

RYP, is this simply a folding version of HEST? Are there differences in the steel, or the blade design in general? Who is this one aimed at versus the fixed blade version? Also, how did you choose that locking system for the blade?

Looks like a hardy design, judging from the photo.

You need to make DP everything.....packs, rifles, condoms, beer, ice cream, rub on tattoos, spatulas.....the whole smear.

no Moosehead, this is a radically different folder. The blade is D2 tool steel which is extremely hard but would be too brittle in a large fixed blade. The frame is a titanium alloy that is very light and strong but too soft for a cutting edge (although we are working on a new titanium from Japan for a special "covert" non ferrous version of the HEST fixed. . The Roto block allows the user to actually lock the blade in fixed position which essentially provides the exact same size as the fixed HEST but in a lighter, stronger, sharper package. You will be allowed to adjust the friction of the very large axle for the blade and best of all you get all the size, strength and quality of a $350 - 1200 knife for under $200 bucks.
