???

From the Urban Dictionary

I'm rubber you're glue

A riposte used when someone calls you a name. Indicates that whatever names or words someone uses in an attempt to offend or insult you, those words will bounce off you, and stick to the name-caller, indicating that he or she is actually indicative of the connotation he or she originally wanted to impart upon you. Also, what I say to Peter to make him cry.

I'm rubber you're glue, your words bounce off me and stick to you.

lol - yeah, i was trying to teach p. how to handle my 1911 - and it looked all wonky - so i tried to show him how to do it one handed, when i realized he was a southpaw - so it wasn't gonna work.

Reminds me of my Dad teaching me how to play ball. Neither of us realized how big of a problem it was. I'm still hopeless, to this day. I think they might have still tried to beat left handedness out of kids back then.

My dad was left handed and tried to teach me golf......once.

Strange thing is,I am pretty much ambidextrous, the above was the one big fail that probably put me off golf for life(as well as being a boring as fuck game).

Let me just say again how jealous I am that you have a takedown BLR!!

How's that 1911 treating you? And what ever happened with the trigger job on the Glock?

the trigger job was a vast improvement - thanks for the suggestions :)

the 1911 is good. had a few misfires, but apparently that is normal when it's getting broken in.

all are in a pile of pieces on the floor at the moment - but will probably get taken out to play again soon :)

Went shooting yesterday.

Soon I am going to test some Buffalo Bore 10mil ammo for a guy, then load up some .40 s&w ammo to near .41 magnum - .44 magnum range of power to test.

That is a very good price - and it is a very good thing to keep 'em clean.

Postby marie-angelique » Tue May 08, 2012 9:47 pm

so i finally finished making the holster. sadly i am dyslexic and it isn't betting and getter.
so it turned out to be a left side holster.
back to the drawing board.

thinking about getting one of those 1911 copycat guns that shoots .22
what thinketh the flag?

1911s are well overrated on your side of the pond, because of their iconic status probably and you lot being such sentimental SOBs. It's heresy to say this in America but your beloved 1911 is a pig. The only pistol I have known that never once misfired in over 10,000 roundsof use was the Beretta 92 which I have waxed lyrical about in another thread with people. The only thing that ever got close to that was the Browning Hi Power. Every single other pistol, Sigs, Glocks, you name it, all these fashion accessories, not a one of them matched that in my personal experience which I prefer over paid reviews and company stats. I am not Italian and would far rather be recommending a British pistol but Webley got out of that game, mores the pity.

I wouldn't want a handgun that might not fire so if my life depended on it I'd either have any old revolver (but preferably a Python (Rolls Royce) or a 586 (Ford Escort)) or if it has to be a semi-auto then a Beretta 92 and while you're clearing your jam from your piece of pigiron I'll phone for a pizza and then wander up and stick two in your liver before nicking your stash. Hypothetically obviously. In most people's case in America I guess they want to be able to leave it in their drawer untouched and uncleaned, collecting belly button fluff in the mechanism for years on end before the low prob high impact event of having to reach for the twat and start epileptically yanking on the trigger until the bad man stops moving.

On the subject of misfires the beasts of the field taught me that that even a low incidence is fucking inconvenient. I used to have a Beretta semi-auto shotgun, supposed to be the bollocks but that bastard would misfeed about every 500 shots, not that bad for a semi-auto shotgun, which in the main still remain annoyingly unreliable in my opinion (yeah, yeah ammunition related I know, blah blah, which is why I avoid gas operated shotguns these days because that gnarly old rusty Mossberg that rattles when I shake it never misfeeds, it would probably fire potatoes if I could stuff them in the chamber). It was amazing how often the misfeed would coincide with the only shootable goose all day which I miss with the first shot because I'm frozen solid and half asleep. (Not amazing at all of course, the cold would affect the oil and the metal and increase probability of misfeed). I sold it before I ended up smashing it against a tree (only reason I didn't is because there aren't any trees to smash it against in the fens). I would do the same with any gun that does not do what it says on the tin. If that bastard jams on the range even only every 1000 rounds then sod's law states categorically that it will happen cometh the day.

Revolver, revolver, revolver.

1911s are damn good short range guns. The triggers are awesome and if you pull the trigger it goes boom! I've yet to have a failure to fire that wasnt ammo related (usually, this means i've stuck too much powder in) with my Glock 29, and it's g2g for big game at reasonable distances. Pull the trigger and it goes BOOM (10mm). It's no .44, but not too far off for a "big" subcompact...load some hard cast 200 grainers @ 1250 fps & you'll through & through anything that lives.

what i am looking for is a handgun that shoots that cheap .22 ammo since i can't afford target practice anymore.
