Smokey Mt Knife Works

So if you ever are outside of Knoxville TN, stop on in at Smokey Mt Knife Works.

Here is the key though, treat it like a casino, strip club or whorehouse, put the money you are willing to not leave with in your front pocket and secure the rest and the credit cards. It is a bit of a tourist trap in a way but they do have some really nice knives, including a full display of DPX knives. It was cool to see so many of them in one spot.

Oh and the Lodge Factory store across the street is great if you are into cast iron cooking.

I have 2 Lodge high carbon stainless steel skillets. If I went there I would probably buy much more than I needed.

I do "need" a Dutch oven at some point. I almost ordered one on the off chance the plague would have been worse, then I could have baked bread in my fire pit.

I never knew they made so many different items, I ended up with a flat top for my BBQ grill.

I have a microscopic yard. It is like 20' by 35' so I have one of those Weber grills that can fit on a table ...but that and a Lodge steel pan make the best blackened steaks.
Except for really small pans to fry single eggs, teflon sucks. My wife did not know any better before we got married and I have to replace all the teflon crap with real stuff once I can find exactly what we need.

Get a lower carbon steel wok for outside as well. One without wood or plastic handles.

If you tip them upside down over flame you can make awesome home made pita bread that picks up some of the smoke from the grill as well.

I have an older Lodge Hibachi that I use now and then, they are hard to find and some of the shipping cost sucks. It is like they make them and then they stop for a bit.

A PK Grill classic is my go to these days, they do a mini version of it as well.

Up until a few years ago I did not know that some older BBQ grills, such as some of the PK's have this whole collector vibe about them. Kind of like the airstreams of grills.
