Kayaking Angola's longest river: new book out soon!

Postby Ozymandias » Fri Feb 09, 2018 4:09 pm

In June 2016 my friend Alfy and I kayaked 984km and hiked 316km from the source of Angola's River Kwanza to the Atlantic Ocean. As you may have seen from earlier threads, we made a documentary film about it which can be viewed here: http://www.kayakthekwanza.com. Check it out, it's 52 minutes long and has everything a good African river adventure story needs: hippo attacks, rapids, illegal diamond miners, a sinking and even us getting arrested and nearly deported!

Well, now I'm publishing a book about the trip. Crowdfunding publisher Unbound have picked up the story. You can pledge and pick up your copy here: https://unbound.com/books/kayak-the-kwanza/. Our expedition raised over USD25,000 for The HALO Trust's mine clearance work in Angola, and 25% of the book sales will also go towards this cause. Please help us get this story out to a wider audience! Thought this would be right up the BFC's street...
