Ghana

My wife was born in Kumasi, Ghana in 1960. And left for the UK when she was 5 years old ( Her parents were from the UK, working there in a hospital)
She would dearly love to return to see the place where she grew up. Anyone any first hand knowledge of the area?
Just in the planning stage at the moment, so any info greatly appreciated.

well , kumasi is still there.
my wife is from there and we still have family around.
the center of town , adum , is pretty much the same as when she left with many old buildings .
the rest of the city is rapidly expanding .
the market of kumasi is famous for it's size , the biggest in west africa.
the hospital where her parents used to work will probably be Okomfo Anokye Hospital , not far from the zoo.
let me know what you want to see in kumasi
