2nd on the sunflower seeds tip.

Also, what I have found is that simple commentary - talk radio - keeps me awake and alert more than any type of music, open air, slapping myself on the face, coffee, shaking my head or apples (apples actually will keep you awake better than coffee) can.

Bob & Tom or NPR or just any voice on there talking about whatever - this is a good thing. Even a cheap portable C.B. to shoot the shit with the truckers will help likewise.

I have ridden over 30 hours straight (other than pit stops) on a motorcycle before and also driven a car the same way - The worst for me personally is the period from about 3 a/m - dawn. If you can get through that 3 or 4 hours stretch, the rest is cake.

If you need to keep driving and nothing else works, keep mentally repeating: "I DO!" Meaning, you SHALL.

If your eyes start closing even for a split second beyond a blink, find a safe place to park and sleep for a few hours. Even 3 hours is better than none. All of this talk is making me tired.

DRIVE SAFELY DEVLIN!

Express delivery of bovine manure no doubt.

Google "microsleep". Feel free to add cruise control.

The thing that worked the best was a big bag of sour patch kids candy.

So you made it without incident ?
It seemed like a good idea at the time.
