Paging South_Sea_Bubble,

Halong Bay is worth a day trip. Maybe it would be worth your while to go into hill people land the opposite direction.

The shitty part about Hanoi is the midnight curfew, nightlife ends quick...although its easy to find skeezy after hour joints.

ttfn!

Hanoi sucks compared to Saigon, which sucks compared to Hue, IMO. Depends on what you want.
You paying attention? I'm talking... G5, Pecker! That's how you can roll. No more frequent flyer bitch miles for my boy! Oh yeah! Playa... playa! Big dick playa!

Hue is full of old people. Hanoi sucks because it has a curfew.

Oh, yeah, I did a two-day, overnight-on-the-boat tour of Halong Bay and it was one of the best tours of my life. That place is fucking awesome! Beautiful.

I just did the usual tourist stuff, and that was, jeez, 1998? I was lost most of the time, as I recollect. I'm sure things have changed. I do remember really enjoying Uncle Ho's mausoleum (creepy but fun, like the local high school's Halloween haunted house) and the Hanoi Hilton. That was before McCain ran for POTUS too, and it was already practically a shrine to "everyone's favorite POW ever." They had his shoes on display, I shit you not.

I figure it was the torturing of his dumb ass that turned him all mental in the head.
I know the law. And I have spent my entire life in its flagrant disregard.

Yeah, he was tortured quite a lot. Even toned down for political purposes, that part of the museum was creepy as all fuck. I don't know how he came out of that was as sane as he did. Hell, he's one of the sanest people in DC right now, which isn't saying much, but you know:

Came back from the Hanoi Hilton. Except for a tour group of old Vietnamese people, everybody else was a foreign tourist. Seems the Vietnamese don't care much for the site. Most of the exhibits focused on the place when it was a French dungeon. One room was about American pilots. Didn't see McCain's shoes.
