Expedition Overland series

This isn't too bad. Stumbled across this on the web. Un grupo de gringos from Montana pimp up some 4 Runners and south down to Panama. The rides look pretty nice. Good stories, although, they sometimes come across as a little too do-gooder smarmy, and sometimes, incredibly naïve. If you're headed south of the border(s), you'd think they learn more Spanish than just "gracias" and "cerveza." I just wonder who fronted the dinero for the gear, rigs & travel. What I liked the most was the scenery they travel through. Guatemala & Costa Rica look pretty bitchin. El Salvador must mean "hell on earth". ps: I know it doesn't. Quite the opposite, actually. Waddaya think?

The real Army, composed entirely of young enthusiasts in camouflage uniforms, from whom impossible efforts would be demanded and to whom all sorts of tricks would be taught. That's the army in which I should like to fight.”
