Is Beirut dangerous?

Postby Witzin » Fri Nov 06, 2015 7:42 am

Hello All

I am going to Beirut in the spring to do some work, but I would really like to know if the city is dangerous in any way?

1. Is it a safe city to walk around in on your own when you look like a scandinavian viking.

2. Is there some areas I should avoid?

Thanks a lot

The viking

Stay out the refugee camps and its as (un)safe as most big cities, at least it was when I was there, albeit about 8 years ago. Its probably not a very pleasant place to visit ATM, given that they haven't had waste disposal for months!
