Afghanistan, the road from Jalalabad to Kabul

Taken today, it wasn't my turn to drive... Enjoying my new digital SLR very much. Sorry about the mosaic of some shots but the vehicles need to remain completely unknown.

Those are great pics

I was just reading some stuff on the British retreat from Kabul to Jalalabad during the First Afghan War in 1842 (?), so it's cool to see what the place looked like. Pretty harsh, but beautiful

What a place.

Flying over it on the way to India and seeing how devoid it was from the air certainly was a true indicator as to what's actually there/not there.

Thanks, cool stuff.

Thx, great pics, love the village in the third pic, kinda place where I'd like to pull of the road and chill for a few days.

Nice photos walrus. Does the road to Jalalabad take part of the route to Salang? I have some photos that look like a very similar area. I'll post them in a bit.
