No mate, is his house on the Bala Hissar (east) side or the Babur's Tomb (west) side of the wall? As I'm always at work when I go up that hill I can't exactly let my charges wander off into the slum housing surrounding it. A quick up (drink), across and down, then away. A few kids will mingle about but that's about it. Not ideal, but that's what security dictates for us.

Nice scarf BTW

The west side of the wall. Some people around late 2008 were shot at up there by bandits apparently, see anyone around other than kids? They're probably wise and staying away from FF

I grew quite a attached to that scarf (i can't remember the real name of the thing)

Yeah, there have been a few things happen up on old Sher Derwaza, and some of the slopes are still mined.

That looks like an Arab Shemagh to me mate, did you buy it in Kabul?

HA!! It was the Jeans i was precisely thinking of. Jeans with bells, jeans with 60 zips on them, jeans with 20 fashion patches on them.... and the list goes on

A leg stretch on the long road down from Baggers to Basrah, we'd just passed through a sandstorm an hour before. Southern Iraq, 10th June 2005
