Red tailed hawk revisited

Postby Lunatock » Thu Sep 18, 2008 2:38 am

Less blood & guts than the last series, but I'm using a DSLR now and was able to get closer to the hawk this time. While it was sitting there waiting for dinner to walk out into the open.

So I'll meet up with that Russian, that Brazillian, the rest of the team from Brooklyn..and we'll start shooting.

My favorite of all the raptors, for sure. They are cool by default in my mind. Very nice pics. Thanks for posting them.

Vermin. Trap em or shoot em if you want to keep the grouse on the moor, what!

Maybe I'd rather capture one and train it to go after rabbits, squirrels, and Brits. Maybe play the Benny Hill chase music for the last one.

If you had a small pet, like a cat or little dog, could the hawk eat it? do you have to keep small pets inside..?

Probably not. Aside from maybe a big feral tom cat around here that has some nice scars, red tailed hawks would shy way from attacking other predators.

For example. Imagine a cat or a jack russel terrier fighting back, instead of a duck:
