Polar Bear: I come in peace

Postby Lunatock » Wed Nov 26, 2008 9:12 pm

Norbert Rosing's striking images of a wild polar bear coming upon his tethered sled dogs in the wilds of Canada 's Hudson Bay.

The photographer was sure that he was going to see the end of his dogs when the polar bear wandered in.

The Polar Bear returned every night that week to play with the dogs.
So I'll meet up with that Russian, that Brazillian, the rest of the team from Brooklyn..and we'll start shooting.

Amazing!!! I was waiting for the pics to download expecting some pretty gory shit with dogs' heads chewed off etc - but those are fantastic images

Cheers for that

That has been circulated over two years according to my wife, though I have never seen it before. That bear reminds me of our dog the way he's sort of "rolling" on the sled dogs (one of my dogs does this to my 10 year old nephew when he comes and visits) I'm not sure what causes this extreme attention, but it's great to see.

WOW! I am stunned by these images. I'm only finally seeing them now, they're excellent. That must have been one lonely polar bear. Or maybe he was acting on behalf of all his brothers and sisters, doing sort of a political tap dance to gain public support for their cause.
