Quicktime

Postby Mccinny » Thu May 18, 2006 12:19 am

I've recently been having a problem with Quicktime. Whenever I go to a website that has it as an automatic play, it doesn't play. I generally get the big Q with a question mark in the center.

I am assuming that I've downloaded an update of some sort. I've checked my settings but can't find any descrepancies. Any ideas?

Try using a different browser and see if that helps.

If you are using Mozilla or Firefox, enter about:config into the location bar and then go look for your settings for loading Quicktime.

You can also go to the quicktime site and do their test. It works with Quicktime, Flash and Macromedia. While there, check their FAQs.

It could also be your firewall permissions, and it may be related to Java. I think Java loads Quicktime.

Use Quicktme alternative. It's a free streamlined version of quicktime, and works much better than the original.

There's a realplayer version as well, if you're having problems with that.
