Your Mac has a basic paint program as well. You could also download (free) a program called GIMP, which is like Photoshop.

I've had troubles with avatars before too, I'm not sure why it screws up sometimes even if you're following the guidelines.

I've tried every which way, and I still can't make it work. I was going to change my avatar to RYP's suggestion:

Never mind. You'll have to keep putting up with the younger version.
Shes never interfered with me. I have no complaints about her.

Mega ditto.
I met her once and I found her to be a nice lady. Not kookey in any way.
Penta has always been gracious, kind and very sane in all my interactions with her.

I use photobucket, adjusting the size is easy but I post pics on several boards. A lot of the pics I post are of the technical nature and details are important, if I start downsizing the pics, just for this board, much of the detail will be hard to see.

No, there's really not a point in going through all that. flickr is quite easy to do that with as well but I'd rather not steal a photo from another site, have to upload it and keep it on my acct just to make a joke (which is 99% of my postings here)
