Compact Muon Solenoid

Postby coldharvest » Sun Apr 04, 2010 7:39 am

Anyone have any results yet?
....seen any Higgs bosons?
I know the law. And I have spent my entire life in its flagrant disregard.

Not this time......but don't take my word for it.

Maybe when they take it from 3.5 up to 7 TeV we'll 'see' them.

Yeah,a nanosecond before we all get turned inside out and become star stuff

just yesterday/today "mini big bang" produced with just begun lead (heavy metal) ion collisions, search for that at news.google.com for related coverage.

or check the lhc blog for a more informal format: http://blogs.uslhc.us/

7 tev was last test energy level in proton-proton collision, which next proton-proton collision phase i believe to start back up in feb and go to at least 8 tev, at which point resulting data analysis (from 6 months to 1 year post that phase) should confirm or deny higgs-boson as theorized (8-10 tev collisions theorized to produce enough data at a rapid enough rate to determine final h-b existence quickly and with finality)

alternate theories regarding collision energy levels needed to produce h-b also exist but require modification to the standard model particles and/or sundry interaction mechanisms as they stand.

currently, evidence may exist in data so far collected (from 3.5 to 7 tev collision phase that just ended) but will take a while (6 months to year) to analyze sufficiently.

final answer: more research needed as yet, but if nothing is forthcoming by feb 2011 (from this last proton-proton phase), status should be determined reliably by end of 2011 early 2012.

They are going to look like cunts if the Higgs Boson theory turns out to be Higgs bollocks. All those pennies they saved up...
