Bastard Frog

Postby Fenrisco » Thu Mar 24, 2011 6:21 pm

I don't know if this is affecting other members of the board - since I have seen no mention of it, I suspect not. But it appears that ImageShack have changed their terms of service in one way or another and any image hosted on their site and linked to from here displays - to me - as a yellow frog in a block of ice with the message "Domain Unregistered. To view, register at bit.ly/imageshack-domain."

For instance, if I want to see the following rather distasteful image of grim men in uniform staring at the charred remains of a heroic cosmonaut I have to use a proxy... Otherwise it's that Bastard Frog again.

Image

Thoughts? Is this a pro-China move for ImageShack (Taiwan is an "unregistered domain" to them)? Since you all can see their images fine they can't possibly be referring to comebackalive.com regardless... It must depend on the area from which one is attempting to access the image. In short, does anyone else see the frog or is it... just... me...?

I see no frog only a crispy cosmonaut
I know the law. And I have spent my entire life in its flagrant disregard.

It might be just you, I only see the frog in some old threads.

Hope p-bucket is still working for you.

Oh yeah, that's fine. Definitely no problem there.

No problem in SK. I see a fried cosmonaut.

Guess it must just be a pro-ChiCom move on Imageshack's part then.

The really funny thing is that I could only see the Imageshack frog until I looked at this page through a proxy... Then I got it.

Google must love the Flag, this thread gets the #1 spot for "Imageshack Taiwan Frog" and #2 for "Bastard Frog" (several spots above the "List of Ethnic Slurs" page)... Does RYP have a policy on Flaggers renting out signature space?
