Murder, dereliction of duty: what's the difference?

Postby Penta » Fri Oct 02, 2009 11:14 am

They're much of a muchness, obviously.

Murder charges have been dropped against a US marine who admitted to a court-martial that he shot dead an unarmed Iraqi in Falluja in 2004.

Sgt Jermaine Nelson pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of dereliction of duty and faces a one-year sentence.

Shes never interfered with me. I have no complaints about her.
Same here.
Mega ditto.
I met her once and I found her to be a nice lady. Not kookey in any way.
Penta has always been gracious, kind and very sane in all my interactions with her.

Seems to me the difference is between bad intent and bad judgment. Kind of like the difference between arson and falling asleep with a lit cigarette in your hand. Sometimes the lines get blurred and the end result can be the same, but generally there is a difference.
