Canadian Competition Bureau and U.S. Federal Trade Commission just gave the green light for Pfizer to acquire Wyeth. Deal expected to close tomorrow. The combined company will have about 129,000 employees (before layoffs over the next few years) and $71 billion in sales.

Pretty soon we will be down to one company. Pfizer is the most agressive of the companies I've dealt with. Wyeth folks were kinder and gentler in contrast.

It will be interesting to see what they do. I think they'll keep the OTC business around, but I'm sure they're going to drop the hammer big time on a lot of people.
