I think there've been 3 inquiries about Michael Mann, all of which have cleared him (but I haven't got a link to hand).
US climate scientists in particular are still apparently receiving loads of death threats and, thanks to freedom of speech, can't do anything about them:

And in the meantime, we do almost nothing to stop climate change, which isn't going to go away by itself. Is it simply an example of the Prisoners' Dilemma, as the wiki page claims:

The benefit to an individual country to maintain current behavior is greater than the benefit to all countries if behavior was changed, therefore explaining the current impasse concerning climate change.
