Labour admits it's guilt

Postby coldharvest » Tue Mar 01, 2011 8:58 am

Labour, the party of naive fools who sold out honest working people for their rich liberal elite friends has admited it was wrong....sort of.

The Labour leader said wages for the 11million Britons on the basic tax rate had not risen since 2003 – long before the recession.
And he hinted his party had got it wrong on immigration.
The last government helped middle income earners through tax credits, he claimed at the launch of the Commission on Living Standards. (I wonder how much we're paying these political assholes for that Commission?)
‘But we were wrong not to focus more on the type of economy we were building and what that meant for the widening gulf between those at the very top and the rest,’ he added.
‘At the same time, economic migration and greater labour market flexibility have increased the pressure faced by those in lower skill work.
Meaning they relaxed immigration and foreign worker laws at the expense of the British people.

What a twat Milliband is, seeing as how he and his brother were smiling happy idiots defending their party when the tide was with them.

Ed's right, especially on Blair's politico-economic triangulation policies (thanks, Bill), which were a betrayal of all the party's history and principles (not to mention of the people whose interests they claim to serve) for the sake of power, and it's a good thing to admit it.

I'm no fan of Blair's, as you know. But I think the initial deal with Gadaffi, which put a stop to his nuclear programme and forced him to let the IAEA inspectors in, was worth doing. Beyond that, all the oil and arms dealing with nothing in return is a different matter.

And it turns out, for all his efforts, he didn't manage to sell Libya half as many arms as Italy did. Double fail.

Bit surprised to see Malta having sold close to 80 million squid worth of small-arms to Libya in 2009.This article adds some context.

I was more distracted by the chemical weapons sales in the chart of EU arms sales generally: who are we selling them to?
