Only in select theatres now (ie NYC or LA). I'm not sure when it's going wide or if it will just be in indie cinemas. Disappointing as its the only thing I'm willing to part with money for this summer.

haven't seen it myself, but my buddy (who has pretty good taste in movies and coincidentally also did two tours in iraq) saw it and said it was one of the best movies he's ever seen.
when they ask how you feeling
you tell em you feeling like something important died screaming
you tell em you feeling like something even more important arrived breathing
something you should probably try feeding

Some day this war's gonna end.

For gay Nazi hunters like me this looks pretty good too

didn't suck.

a few issues are left ambiguous, such as the nature of the Professor met in the film, who the bad guys are - but the film-making competence, the excellent character work and the writing is good... much better than Bigelow's Point Break or other shoddier films
Religion is often criticized for its heavy-handed approach to guilt and shame. The Ford fiasco convinces me that there is an important place for both.

saw the film on the flight over to NY (Virgin is amazing) and it was wicked (except maybe the part where the SAS are depicted as gun-ho amateurs). a bit disconnected and lacking fluidity but probably the best "Vietnam" Iraq film made. all the other one's that came out so far were just trying to emulate the Vietnam films made after that war but they failed miserably. I would pick any of the Rambo series over a film that came out in recent years on Iraq.

I think ambiguity was the point. The characters don't know who's 'good' or 'bad' nor do we.

Agree to both though I don't recall if they were SAS or PMC. Was a very tense and exciting scene though. Will always remind myself to carry Capri sun when going out to a desert.
