For those post related to Burt Reynolds and throwing balls.

Buried - out soon

Just saw Buried at the Toronto Film Festival - a small film which takes a box with a American contractor locked up inside it, and makes that story work for 90 minutes - all he has is a cellphone and zippo from the start, and no idea who put hinm there besides some insurgents who assaulted his caravan of truck drivers near Baquba... 90 minutes of this might sound strange, but it's more about his attempts to get help, pleading with the State Dep't, his company (CRT - obviously taking the resonances of KBR) and the insurgents who locked him inside his coffin/box... the rest of you won't see it for a few days, but you will probably find it brilliant. watch it on a big screen, though be cautious if you're prone to claustrophobia - this will evoke it.

oh, and Ryan Reynolds starred, but didn't bring Scarlett with him to the premiere, only his mom. we were duly disappointed.
Religion is often criticized for its heavy-handed approach to guilt and shame. The Ford fiasco convinces me that there is an important place for both.
