The Killers. Burt Lancaster and Ava Gardner. Also the version with Lee Marvin, John Cassavetes and Ronald Reagan.

Le Cercle Rouge with Alain Delon.

Good call on The Killers,I like the Lee Marvin version.

Perhaps not Film noir, more revenge thriller but great none the less. Robert Duvall in The Outfit. Duvall takes on "The Syndicate" for what he believes they owe him for time in prison and the death of his brother. Due to the similarity I am pretty certain it was the model for Mel Gibsons Payback

I haven't seen The Outfit. Sounds good, but isn't Payback a remake of Point Blank, a stellar Lee Marvin flick.

The Yakuza. Robert Mitchum.

I don't know. IT just seems like payback is similar. Yakuza is a cracker of a film, I remember seeing it when it came out and being wowed by it.

Payback is a grossly inferior remake of Point Blank.

The original Cape Fear and the remake are good, with a lot of the same cast, the same Bernard Herrman score, but a slightly different plot.

not just The Killers, The Killing too http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Killing_(film)

Fo sure. I liked James Coburn's part in it tho.

I wondered if Point Blank came under the heading of Film Noir, but it get's my vote.

Blade Runner or The Terminator, you can't beat a bit of tech noir

So good he even called the club, Tech Noir. The scene of the best nightclub shootout in cinema and the most excellent chat up line ever at the end of this clip.

the 80's were great.

Was Taxi Driver a film noir? It's got the musical score for it, including Bernard Herrman.

The original Danish version of The Killing is as noir as they come. I guess in Seattle rain had to act as stand in for dark.

The whole of Denmark is as noir as they come, never mind the movie.
